City Man Charged After Shooting Cats With Pellet Gun

A Jamestown man was taken into custody Tuesday after allegedly using a pellet rifle to shoot at neighborhood cats.

Investigation revealed that 25-year-old Russell C. Genovese Jr. was using the rifle in the area of Linwood Avenue shortly before midnight. Jamestown Police found two dead cats in the area.

Genovese was charged with two counts of animal cruelty, second-degree reckless endangerment and prohibited use of weapons.

He was sent to the city jail where is being held on bail.
