Jamestown Man Charged For Possession, Sale Of Heroin
A Jamestown man has been charged with possession and criminal sale of heroin Tuesday.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force and Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and its SWAT team executed a search warrant for 10 Terrace Place, Apt. 1, Jamestown, at 7:25 a.m. Tuesday. The warrant had been issued earlier based on information from a heroin trafficking investigation conducted by the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force. An arrest warrant was also issued for William L. Rogers, 26, who was charged with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
The entry into Rogers’ residence was conducted by the Sheriff’s Department’s SWAT team without incident. Rogers was then transported to the town of Carroll Court for arraignment. He was then committed to the county jail without bail.
During the search, more than 12 bundles 125 dosage units of heroin, a large amount of U.S. currency, scales and other paraphernalia, and a quantity of marijuana were found. As a result of the search and investigation, Rogers will have additional charges like second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana. Rogers will be arraigned on additional charges at a later date.
As a result of the investigation, additional information was obtained and the investigation will continue. The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of officers from the county Sheriff’s Office and the city of Dunkirk Police Department.
