Boehler’s Widow Thanks CSHOF
To The Reader’s Forum:
On Aug. 10, 2014, the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, under the superb leadership of Randy Anderson, sponsored the “Chuck Boehler Memorial Dice Run and Motorcycle Show” hosted at the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club of Lakewood, N.Y.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of a 1973 Greeves motorcycle that Doc Sinatra and his crew had so carefully and skillfully restored to its original condition – and what a beauty it is! My late husband, Charles P. Boehler, rode Greeves motorcycles, which he was the dealer for, and rode other makes as well.
He would have been humbled by this event and probably would have said, “Why all the fuss? I was only having fun competing in a sport I loved.”
My sincere thanks to the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, especially Randy Anderson, Doc Sinatra and his crew for their dedication to restore the motorcycle; to Scott Kindberg and The Post-Journal for their coverage featuring many articles regarding this restoration process; and finally to all who participated in the dice run and all who attended – honoring the legacy of my late husband, Charles P. Boehler.
The motorcycle is on permanent display at the Chautauqua Sports Hall of Fame, Jamestown.
