Making An Entrance
Diners at a local McDonald’s were shocked Wednesday afternoon after a car barreled through the front window and nearly entered the restaurant.
According to Ellicott Police, a 30-year-old Jamestown woman – whose name was not released – said her foot accidentally slipped from the brake pedal and onto the accelerator while in the parking lot of the McDonald’s, located at 2803 N. Main St. Extension.
Shortly before 2 p.m., her Volkswagen Tiguan smashed through the restaurant’s front window, causing heavy damage to the window frame, glass and restaurant exterior.
The woman was uninjured.
Although several patrons were inside the restaurant, no other injuries were reported.
Charges have yet to be determined, police said.
