Oldtimers Lose Two To Greenville

The Jamestown Area Oldtimers lost a pair of baseball games to Greenville, Pa., by scores of 17-10 and 9-1 to close out the regular season in the 50-Plus League.

The first game saw Greenville rack up 17 hits and score in all but the second inning en route to the victory.

Baldensperger and Berg smashed doubles for Jamestown, which had 12 hits and a seven-run second inning.

In the second game, Greenville accounted for 14 more hits and limited Jamestown to five hits, one of them being a double by Ron Thomas.

The double-elimination playoffs begin Saturday with Jamestown meeting the Youngstown Falcons at 1 p.m. at Pemberton Park in Youngstown.

The second round begins at 3:30 regardless of the outcome of the first game.
