Jamestown Woman Charged For Selling Cocaine To Task Force Agents
A Jamestown woman is in Chautauqua County Jail after she allegedly sold cocaine to Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force agents in the city.
Alicia M. Birt, 22, of 17B Bradmar Circle, Jamestown, was charged Wednesday with one count each of third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. A warrant had been issued for Birt by Jamestown City Court after Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force members brought information forward on the alleged cocaine sales.
According to a press release from the task force, the arrest culminates a three-month investigation. Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies transported Birt to Sherman Court for arraignment. She was later committed to Chautauqua County Jail without bail pending further action by the court.
The Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force is comprised of officers from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and the Dunkirk Police Department. The task force encourages community members to call 800-344-8702 when they observe narcotics-related activities in their area.
