Discolored Water May Continue On Northside Today

Water had to be shut down at 11 a.m. Wednesday to repair a main on East Terrace Avenue in Lakewood. When water is restored, the entire village of Lakewood can expect discolored water. Customers in Lakewood should avoid doing laundry until their water appears to be clear; it may take 12-24 hours to clear.

A contractor hitting a water line at Bush School resulted in discolored water on the south side of Jamestown on Wednesday.

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities water crews had to change water directions to keep customers in water. The direction change is expected to cause discolored water on the south side for 12-24 hours.

The Jamestown BPU Water Division employees again were working on Wednesday, continuing into today, to complete maintenance on water pumps at the Buffalo Street Pump Station. As a result, north side Jamestown residents and businesses were expected to see discolored water Wednesday into today. The BPU cautions area residents not to do laundry until the water appears to be clear.
