Falconer Schools To Open Sept. 3
FALCONER – Falconer Central Schools will open for students Wednesday, Sept. 3, with a full day of school for students in grades K-12. Teachers and teaching assistants will report Thursday, Aug. 28. All staff will report on Tuesday, Sept. 2, for a day of orientation and preparation.
All students in UPK, kindergarten, grade one and grade two will be attending Temple Elementary School. Temple’s student hours are from 8:35 a.m. until 3:20 p.m., with a breakfast program provided. Grades three, four and five will be attending Fenner Elementary School. Fenner’s student hours are 7:45 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., with a breakfast program provided.
UPK students will not be starting on Sept. 3. Orientation for UPK students will be on Sept. 4, and the first regular day of UPK will be Sept. 5.
MORNING UPK STUDENTS
Students and parents will ride in on the regular morning bus run on Sept. 4. Orientation will be from 8:35-9:35 a.m. Please report to the library upon arrival. After orientation, UPK students and parent(s)/guardian(s) will ride the bus back home. UPK students who are not eligible to ride the school bus must be transported by a parent/guardian.
Students and parents will ride in on the afternoon UPK bus run on Sept. 4. Orientation will be from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Please report to the library upon arrival. After orientation, UPK students and parent(s)/guardian(s) will ride the bus back home. UPK students who are not eligible to ride the school bus must be transported by a parent/guardian.
School hours for middle/high school students will be 7:45 a.m. through 2:30 p.m. School doors will be open at 7:10 a.m. The afternoon bus run for middle/high school students for 2014-15 will be as follows. The regular take-home bus run will leave at 2:30 p.m. A second bus will be available for middle/high school students on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 3:10 p.m. There will be a detention bus departing at 4:15 p.m. from the middle/high school on Tuesday and Thursday only. The late and detention buses will drop students off at the Kennedy Library and the Ellington Library. Parents should pick up their students at these drop-off locations. Parents may pick up, at the middle/high school, any other students staying late who are not on these two scheduled bus runs.
Parents of students in grades UPK, K, three and six will be receiving information regarding bus routes and time schedules in the mail. Any parent who has a question regarding bus runs should call Mr. Peterson at 665-5290 or 665-6624 – press (8) then (2).
Class schedules for students in grades six through eight will be mailed to the students. Students who have questions or need schedule changes may call as follows:

New residents should call their respective building to make an appointment to register their children.
Cafeterias will be open the first day of school with prices as follows:
Class A Lunch – grades K-5: $1.15
Class A Lunch – grades 6-12: $1.20
