McDonald’s Senior Tour Visits Fox Run, CrabApple Ridge

The McDonald’s Senior Golf Tour visited both Fox Run Golf Course and CrabApple Ridge Golf Course on Monday.

Beginning at Fox Run, Randy Carlson took first in White Tees Flight A with plus 6, using the modified Stableford scoring system. Ed Johnson was next with plus 3 and Jim Rissel was third with plus 1 and also shot 84 for low gross.

In White Tees Flight B, Bill Derby had plus 5, Jim Wahlberg followed with plus 4 and Dave Lauricello shot plus 1. Derby and Byran Champlin tied for the low gross with 95.

Wayne Schuver was the top shooter in Gold Tees Flight A with plus 8, Denny Swan was a shot back at plus 7 and Carl Sandstrom had plus 6 while Jim Szwejbka and Bob Wood shared low-gross honors with 79s.

Bill Radack was first in Gold Tees Flight B with plus 14, Bill Kestler had plus 9 and Bill Greenwood shot plus 5. Radack also fired an 84 for the low gross.

Gary Simon won Gold Tees Flight C with plus 13, Dave Chall was second with plus 6 and Jerry McConnell and Dave Snyder tied for third with plus 3. Simon had the low gross with 88.

In Gold Tees Flight D, Boyd Matteson was the winner at plus 9, Ed Rumiano took second with plus 5 and Tom McConnon was third with plus 4. Matteson also posted a 94 for low gross.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Bill Greenwood on No. 4 and Bob Wood on No. 8.

At CrabApple Ridge, Shelly Grant took first place in the White Tees Flight A with plus 9, followed by Ross Cali with plus 8 and Pat Hepinger with plus 8. Grant shot the low gross with 72.

In White Tees Flight B action, Terry Carlson led the way with plus 9, Paul Edson shot plus 6 and Phil Costa had plus 5 and he also was the low gross shooter with 85.

Bill Hart, Don Volk and Doug Spoto all topped the Gold Tees Flight A with plus 8s and Roger Millspaw and Dick Woodfield shot 77s to share the low-gross honors.

In Gold Tees Flight B, it was Dan Kelly shooting the top score with plus 9, Bill Krawczyk was a shot behind at plus 8 and Ray Cenni had plus 7. Kelly’s 84 was the best low gross score in the flight.

Tom Krasinski had plus 11 to lead Gold Tees Flight C, Tom Fairbanks was second with plus 7 and Don Armstrong and Bob Painter were next with plus 6s. Fairbanks carded an 88 for low gross.

Norm Smith and Ed Potter led Gold Tees Flight D with plus 10s, Craig Underwood shot plus 9 and Smith fired an 88 for the low gross.

Closest to the pin on No. 2 was Charlie Krause, on No. 8 was Ross Cali, on No. 11 was Krause and on No. 15 was Bill Hart.

The McDonald’s Tour moves to Union City Country Club on Monday with a 9 a.m. tee time.
