Cross Leads McDonald’s Senior Tour

VENANGO, Pa. – The McDonald’s Senior Golf Tour visited Venango Valley Golf Course on Monday and Bill Cross was the winner of the White Tees Flight A Division with a plus seven, using the modified Stableford scoring system.

Ken Burch was second with plus four and Brian Brown third with a plus four. David Young was the low gross shooter with 74.

In White Tees Flight B action, Ray Head was first with a plus three, Terry Carlson was second with a plus three and Bill Derby and Paul Edson both shot plus twos. Phil Costa shot 89 for low gross.

Bob Wood won the Gold Tees Flight A with a plus 10, Denny Swan placed second with a plus 10, Andy Scalise was third with a plus seven and Wood carded a 74 for the lowest gross score.

Bill Kestler led the Gold Tees Flight B with a plus seven, while second was Bill Roberts with a plus seven, Pete Pascatore third with a plus five. Kestler had low score with an 83.

Bob Painter topped the Gold Tees Flight C with a plus 13, Dave Chall took second with plus five and Charlie Stafford was third with plus four. Painter fired an 86 for the low gross.

In Gold Tees Flight D, Dave Nagy was first with a plus six and Ed Potter was runnerup with a plus six. Wayne Lind came in third with a plus five.

Nagy connected for the lowest score with a 97.

Closest-to-the-pin winners were Wood on No. 2, Ron Hart on No. 11, Terry Woodfield on No. 13 and Wayne Schuver on No. 16.

The McDonald’s Tour will travel to Fox Run Golf Course and Crabapple Ridge Golf Course on Monday with tee-off time set for 9 a.m.
