Cattaraugus County Arts Council To Host Beach Party

SALAMANCA – Allegany State Park and the Cattaraugus County Arts Council will host their annual beach party Friday at the Red House Beach Area of the state park.

The free, family-friendly event kicks off at 6 p.m. with Kevin McCarthy, Allegany’s artist-in-residence. McCarthy, a 2009 Buffalo Music Hall of Fame inductee, will be followed by The Hootn’ Anges. This headlining group performs opening shows for country stars such as Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley. The Back Roads Entertainment Group recording artists and homegrown talents were formerly known as “Luke & Ange” of Franklinville.

There will be kids’ activities such as face painting and crafts provided by the Arts Council and the state park’s Interpretive and Recreation Department. Mark Baker of Eagle Dream Rehabilitation Center will also make an appearance with his live birds of prey.

Topping off the evening will be a fireworks display over the Red House Lake waters. For more information, call the Recreation Department at 354-9101, ext. 236.
