ELLERY – Two individuals sustained minor injuries Monday after their vehicle veered off Interstate 86 near Bemus Point.
Shortly before 4 p.m., the driver – Jared A. Gambrell, 21, of Sayre, Pa. – was traveling in the westbound lane when he reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and caused his Lincoln MKX to veer into the median and strike a culvert.
Gambrell and his passenger – Zoe R. Wiefeldt, 22, of Kalamazoo, Mich. -were transported to WCA Hospital by the Bemus Point Fire Department for evaluation.
Gambrell was charged with unlicensed operation and moving from a lane unsafely. He will appear in Ellery Court at a later date.
