Esther I. Miller

GERRY – Esther I. Miller, 88, of the Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center, formerly of Hunt Road in Ashville and Frostburg, Pa., passed away Thursday (July 31, 2014) in the home.

She was born Nov. 5, 1925, in the town of Ashford, N.Y., the daughter of the late Charles Henry Burdic Sr. and Doris Sybil Smith Burdic. She attended Bradford area schools and was a homemaker.

She attended Frostburg Baptist Church and was a member of the Frostburg Grange.

Esther enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting and hunting.

She is survived by two children: Carl Miller Jr. and Carol Mott, both of Rochester, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by eight siblings; Margaret Greathouse of Avon, N.Y., Beatrice Kranking of Sher-man, Charles Burdic of Springville, N.Y., Robert Burdic of Delevan, N.Y., Donna Greenwood of Bak-ersfield, Calif., Rita Potts of Arlington, Texas, David Burdic of Michigan and her caregiver and baby brother, James Burdic of Ashville, N.Y.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Miller Sr. in 1990; a son, Robert Miller; and three siblings: Raymond Burdic, Twilla Barber and Frances Smith.
