RIPLEY – The North Shore Arts Alliance and the North East Arts Council are joining forces for an art exhibition inspired by a 2011 show in London, England.
“Spirit of Art” opens at Sensory Winery & Art Gallery, located at 10599 West Main Road in Ripley on Sunday and continues through Sept. 14. An opening reception takes place Friday, Aug. 8, from 7-9 p.m.
“Spirit of Art” will feature art in a variety of mediums including painting, photography, sculpture, pottery and mixed media. This show takes its inspiration from the “Spirit of Art Exhibition” that took place La Galleria Pall Mall in London in March 2011.
Artists from the North Shore Arts Alliance with works in the show are Diane Andrasik, Lucille Bryant, Barbara Del Monte, Carolyn Grady, Ronnie Lafferty, Linda Lavid, Marcia Merrins, Alberta Parker, Cecelia “Ivy” Price, Bill Smith and Carrie Tredo.
Participating North East Arts Council artists are John Ballard, Christine French, Tamara Maas, Laura Mikula, Jon Miller, Tajana Roehl, Eric Schwartz and Bryan Toy.
This is the second show in 2014 that has been jointly sponsored by the North Shore Arts Alliance and the North East Arts Council.
The North East Arts Council was formed in 1989 to encourage and stimulate an appreciation of the arts in the community of North East, Pennsylvania. By making artistic and culturally enriching activities available as part of the welcoming environment, the organization hopes to enhance the already significant quality of life in this vibrant community.
