I didn’t know Ryan Kiblin, but Margot Russell’s tribute to her in The Post-Journal made me feel like she was my kindred spirit as a fellow nature conservator.
I walked through Chautauqua Institution just before the opening of the season and oblivious to all of the frenzied activity lay the lovely, tranquil green spaces that Ryan created and tended. I marveled at how there could be such beauty after the brutal winter we endured. The arrival of spring takes care of a lot of it, but the human touch is also necessary for things to thrive.
Ryan understood this. She was as much of an artist as a painter who uses a canvas. Her legacy will remain for us to enjoy.
