Harriett L. Carlson

Harriett L. Carlson, 97, formerly of Newland Ave., Jamestown, and Cherry Street, Frewsburg, passed away Wednesday (July 23, 2014), in Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing.

She was born April 22, 1917, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Newville LaBaron.

Harriett attended Falconer High School, and in earlier years was employed by National Worsted Mills, American Manufacturing and MRC Bearings.

She was a member of the Falconer Fire Department Auxiliary. Harriett enjoyed spending winters in Polk City, Fla., traveling and sit-ting on the patio enjoying nature. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, “Penny.”

Surviving is her son Walter E. (Sharon) Carlson of Jamestown; her daughter, Jeanette (Gary) Perkins of Jamestown; her son-in-law, Roger Parsons Sr. of Colorado; seven grandchildren: Barbara Bemis of Jamestown, Roger Parsons Sr. and Sandra Vuleich, both of Colorado, Philip (Lynsey) Carlson of Hoboken, N.J., Adam Carlson of Buffalo, Michael (Kathy) Perkins of Sinclairville. and Stacy (Joel) Anderson of Frewsburg; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grand- children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford W. “Dugan” Carlson, whom she married Oct. 7, 1939, in Russell, Pa., and who died Sept. 21, 1986; a daughter, Nancy Parsons; and a brother, Leslie (Lois) LaBaron.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Lewis will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Friends will be received by the family from 11 a.m. to1 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
