Introduction Of Counter-Expert Prompts Defense To Ask For Mistrial In Wells Murder Trial

MAYVILLE – The prosecution has called a counter-expert and the defense called for a mistrial this morning in the Jason Wells murder trial.

The expert has testified that after numerous interviews and research, he has determined Wells suffers from antisocial personality disorder.

Lyle Hadju, Wells’ defense attorney, was outraged and called for a mistrial after hearing the expert give hearsay from witnesses he said he was unable to cross-examine, but Judge John Ward denied the motion and told the jury much of the hearsay should only be considered for the expert’s opinion, not as fact in the case.
