ELLICOTT POLICE DEPARTMENT

Gregory M. Messere Jr., 18, of Celoron was charged Tuesday with two counts of fourth-degree larceny, two counts of third-degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated and traffic infractions. At 3:15 a.m., police received a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Town Line Road in the area of Moon Road. Upon arrival, officers found an unoccupied Chevrolet dump truck in a ditch on the west side of the road. While officers were checking the area for the driver, a second call was received from a Town Line Road residence reporting a prowler going through a vehicle. Officers then found another Chevrolet pickup truck in a ditch about a half -mile down the road from the first accident. With the assistance of K-9 Drago and the New York State Police, Messere was located a short distance from the scene and taken into custody. He was transported to WCA Hospital for minor injuries. He will appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

HANOVER – A 16-year-old female youth from Buffalo was charged Tuesday with unlawful possession of marijuana. A 17-year-old female youth from Ransomville was charged Tuesday with unlawful possession of marijuana. A 17-year-old female youth from Newfane was charged Tuesday with disobeying a traffic control device and unlawful possession of marijuana. At 3:12 p.m., deputies were on patrol in Sunset Bay when a vehicle was observed committing a traffic violation on South Shore Drive. Deputies pulled over the vehicle and found three female youths occupying the vehicle. Investigation determined that they were in possession of a small quantity of marijuana. They will appear in Hanover Court at a later date.

CATTARAUGUS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

GOWANDA – James P. Braasch, 23, of Lake View was charged Friday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and inadequate plate lamp. At 10 p.m., deputies pulled over Braasch after observing numerous traffic violations. Further investigation revealed that he had a revoked driver’s license. He will appear in Persia Court at a later date.

CATTARAUGUS – Donald L. Beckman II, 30, of Randolph was charged Saturday with second-degree harassment and first-degree criminal contempt after he attempted to contact his ex-girlfriend’s cellphone using a blocked number in violation of an order of protection. He will appear in Albion Court at a later date.

PORTVILLE – Keenan Linn, 25, of Portville was charged Saturday with fourth-degree criminal mischief and endangering the welfare of a child. At 11 p.m., Linn allegedly had a domestic incident at his residence with his grandfather and brother. He was remanded to the county jail in lieu of $500 bail.

MACHIAS – Thomas J. Archer, 19, of Machias was charged on July 3 with endangering the welfare of a child after an investigation from a domestic occurred. He will appear in Machias Court at a later date.

LYNDON – Robert G. Rote, 22, of Olean was charged on July 3 with possession of fireworks after police responded to a complaint of an underage drinking party on King Lane in Lyndon. Nobody was found to be drinking underage, but Rote was in possession of fireworks.

ALLEGANY-Dawn M. Bennett, 21, of Olean was charged on July 3 with speed in zone, unlicensed operation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation. At 3:45 p.m., Bennett was pulled over for speeding and found to have no driver’s license and revoked driving privileges. She was arraigned in Allegany Court and released after posting $125 bail.
