Carol Ann Lind Kindberg
Carol Ann Lind Kindberg, 80, of 805 W. Third St., formerly of 389 Hallock St., died at 6:28 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, in her home after a courageous three-year battle with cancer.
A lifelong Jamestown resident, she was born Feb. 8, 1934, the youngest child of the late Bernhard and Dorothy Willets Lind.
Following graduation from Jamestown High School in 1951, she went on to receive degrees in nursing from WCA Hospital School of Nursing in 1954, Case Western Reserve in 1956 and Children’s Hospital, Washington. D.C., in 1958.
Prior to her retirement in 1993, she was employed by WCA Hospital as an administrative nurse. Following retirement, she worked at Marvin Community House as a server for nearly 20 years and as a Board of Elections inspector. She was also associated with her family’s business, Lind Funeral Home Inc., where she lovingly served as desairologist (a hairdresser of deceased persons) for more than 50 years.
She was an active member of First Covenant Church for more than 50 years. She served the church as choir member and president, and a 29-year member of the Living Christmas Tree, having been chairperson for many years, as well as counting the church offering every Monday.
Her other memberships include WCA Alumni As-sociation, Marvin Community House and former board member of WCA Hospital.
She will be remembered by many as a strong, hard-working, Christ-centered woman who was dedicated for many years to the causes and organizations she believed in. She was an inspiration to many and leaves behind a void that will never be filled, but a legacy that will live on forever in our hearts.
