Thursday Morning Stabbing

A male suspect reportedly behind a city stabbing Thursday morning is still at large.

According to Jamestown Police, the incident occurred at 3 a.m. near 823 Prendergast Ave. and involved a male suspect stabbing a male victim in the chest.

The victim – whose name and address were not released – sustained non life-threatening injuries and was treated at WCA Hospital, police said.

Captain Robert F. Samuelson, Jamestown Police Department division commander, said the incident was not drug-related, but the victim and suspect did know each other.

Details on the description of the suspect have yet to be released. An investigation is ongoing.

The incident is reminiscent of the July 15 home invasion at 100 Hedges Ave. that culminated in a man being stabbed in the chest.

Jamestown Police are still on the lookout for two suspects allegedly involved in that stabbing.

According to police, that incident was drug-related.

Another recent stabbing occurred on May 26, when a Sinclairville man was charged after stabbing a male victim multiple times at a 63 Hazzard St. residence.

The victim was treated at WCA Hospital.
