Reg Lenna Center For The Arts Continues Summer Movie Offerings

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts continues its summer of movies this month.

The Swedish film, “We Are The Best!” shows Saturday and Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. This Stockholm-set comedy tells the story of three teenaged girls in the 1980s who start a punk band against the odds. The film is not rated and is in Swedish with English subtitles. “We Are The Best!” shows the same weekend as the Scandinavian Folk Festival at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds. Tickets for the festival are also on sale at the Reg box office.

The following weekend offers two movies. First up is the animated family movie, “Rio 2” – the continuing story of two exotic birds in Brazil and their adventures with their children and other animals. The film is rated G.

A sensory-friendly showing will be shown on Saturday, July 26, at 11 a.m. (later than normal due to the Cody Family Reunion parade on Third Street) At this showing, the lights will be on higher and the sound will be lower to accommodate the needs of patrons with Aspberger syndrome, autism or other sensitivity. A Sunday, July 27, matinee will begin at 2 p.m. Sensory-friendly screenings are made possible by funding from Kiwanis of Jamestown and support from The Resource Center.

The mistaken identity thriller, “Enemy” will show on Saturday, July 26, and Wednesday, July 30, at 8 p.m. Jake Gyllenhaal stars as an average school teacher who meets an actor who is his exact double. Their lives become intertwined dangerously when they switch places with each other. The film is rated R.

Seats to all movies at The Reg are $5 and may be purchased individually or in passes of five or 10 in order to avoid lines. Concession items may be purchased in a five for $5 offer for extra savings.
