Cherry Creek Gazebo Concert Series Continues Tonight

CHERRY CREEK – The 2014 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series continues this evening with music by Maurice Brown and the Mountain Railroad. The concert will be held in the gazebo of the Memorial Park on Main Street behind the town hall, and will begin at 6:30 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the pavilion of the Main Street Ballpark.

Those planning to attend are reminded to bring lawn chairs for seating. Supper-type refreshments will be available.

Maurice Brown and the Mountain Railroad are very popular and familiar with local music fans. They entertained for over 20 years at the Mountain Depot, and delighted fans with their brand of country and gospel music.

“Our concerts have been very well-attended this year, and we encourage those who may have been planning to come, but haven’t yet, to give us a try. It’s a great way to spend a Thursday evening,” said Brenda Hendricks of the Cherry Creek Community Association.

The title of the concert series this year is “Arts in the Garden” – an attempt to merge the visual and the performing arts. As in the previous three concerts, there will be an art project available for those who wish to participate, and supplies for the project will be available. Completed projects will be on display at the community picnic, which will be held on the evening of the final concert in August.

The 2014 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series is sponsored by the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc., and funded in part by the New York State Council On The Arts Decentralization Regrant Program administered by the Cattaraugus County Arts Council, area businesses, the town and village of Cherry Creek, and community members.
