Cherry Creek Gazebo Concerts To Continue
CHERRY CREEK – The 2014 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series continues Thursday with the music of Old Dawg Bluegrass. The concert will be held in the gazebo of the Memorial Park on Main Street, located behind the town hall. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the pavilion of the Main Street Ballpark.
Those planning to attend are reminded to bring their own lawn chairs for seating. Supper-type refreshments will be available.
The title of this year’s concert series is “Arts In The Garden.” In an attempt to merge the visual and performing arts, there will be an art project featured while the concert is in progress. Supplies will be available for those wishing to participate. Projects completed during the first four concerts of this season will be on display at the Community Picnic to be held prior to the final concert of this season, Aug. 14.
Old Dawg Bluegrass plays just what their name states: the early country style of music commonly known as “bluegrass,” due to the fact the it originated in the bluegrass region of Kentucky. Popular with concert audiences in our area, this group has audiences clapping and singing along as they perform.
The 2014 Cherry Creek Summer Gazebo Concert Series is sponsored by the Cherry Creek Community Association Inc., and funded in part by the New York State Council On The Arts Decentralization Regrant Program administered by the Cattaraugus County Council, ara businesses, the town and village of Cherry Creek, and community members.
