Southwestern To Provide Bus Services For Three Communities

Southwestern Central School Board members agreed to provide transportation services for Celoron, Lakewood and Busti at their meeting last week.

Three different municipalities asked to use Southwestern buses this summer. At no cost to the district, Southwestern is providing bus transportation services for Celoron’s Summer Youth Recreation Program, the Busti-Lakewood Recreation Commission’s Summer Recreation Program and the Lakewood Family YMCA’s 2014 Summer Day Camp Program.

The board also approved the Transportation Department’s request for additional hours for bus drivers at their regular transportation hourly rates, not to exceed 290 hours from July 7 to Aug. 29 to perform interior and exterior cleaning and maintenance on the buses.

In other news, Southwestern Central School adopted the Code of Conduct after the public hearing on June 10.

The Board of Education changed a 10-month typist to a full-time, 12-month typist effective July 1. This position will be filled by Pauline Wells.
