Area Police Reports


Eliel Rodriguez, 19, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with fourth-degree criminal mischief and third-degree criminal mischief. At 3:42 p.m., officers responded to a Prendergast Avenue apartment for a report of a physical domestic incident. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Rodriguez and a female victim. It was determined that Rodriguez had an argument with the victim and began to damage her property, breaking a cellphone and table. Rodriguez also interfered with the victim while she was attempting to make an emergency call, slapping the phone out of her hand. Rodriguez was transported to the city jail and is pending arraignment.


Steven J. Whalen, 26, of Jamestown was charged June 23 with fourth-degree criminal mischief. Police were called to the Dollar General store for a report of criminal mischief. A store employee observed a man attempting to remove a $100 cellphone from a locked shelf. The phone was damaged in the process. When confronted, the man fled the store. He was later found and transported to the county jail. He will appear in Busti Court at a later date.

Kari Seiberg, of Jamestown, was charged Monday with petit larceny. At 6:11 p.m., Seiberg was charged after she stole merchandise from the Lakewood Wal-Mart totaling $8. She will appear in Busti Court at a later date.


DUNKIRK – Shawn M. Horton, 54, of Stockton was charged Monday with failure to keep right, moving from lane unsafely, driving while intoxicated and DWI per se. At 6:29 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a property damage accident on Williams Street in Dunkirk. Investigation revealed that the driver – Horton – was intoxicated and failed to negotiate a turn from Route 60 onto Williams Street, losing control and crashing into St. Mary’s Cemetery. Horton will appear in Dunkirk Court at a later date.


NAPOLI – Terry A. Bedell, 53, of Little Valley was charged Friday with driving while intoxicated, DWI with blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, using a mobile phone while driving and a turning violation. At 7 p.m., deputies pulled over Bedell for using a cellphone and making an improper left turn while on Route 242 in Napoli. He will appear in Napoli Court at a later date.

ASHFORD – Bruce E. Aungst, 52, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., was charged Saturday with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speed in zone following a traffic stop on Route 219 in Ashford. Aungst was pulled over for speeding and found to have five license suspensions on three separate dates. He will appear in Ashford Court at a later date.
