Numbers Game Held At H.C. Fenner
FALCONER – The 24 Game by Suntex International Inc. seems like a simple math game. The participants add, subtract, multiply and/or divide the four numbers they are given to create three equations. The end result must equal 24. Students are given a limited amount of time to complete the problem. All of the students at H.C. Fenner Elementary School in Falconer practiced for weeks to prepare for this competition.
This year the 24 Game was held during the last week of May. Third-, fourth- and fifth-graders competed within their own grade level to determine the top 20 students in each grade who would advance to the 24 Game Finals. On May 30, 60 students competed to be the champion of the 24 Game. First place went to fifth-grader Amaya Lewczyk, second place went to fourth-grader Zachary Stofko and third place went to fifth-grader Jacob Thierfeldt. The Fenner A.I.S. staff organizes this annual event. They would like to thank the Falconer Honor Society students for volunteering their time to help in this year’s competition and the Falconer Elementary PTO for providing the trophies.
