Rosemont J. Reibel

WESTFIELD – Rosemont J. Reibel, 94, of Westfield, formerly of Mayville, died Wednesday (June 25, 2014) at Absolut Care of Westfield.

She was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Stockton, N.Y., the daughter of the late George and Lottie Kelley Utegg.

Rosemont worked for the Chautauqua County Department of Social Services as a Senior Examiner in Mayville.

She was a member of the Mayville United Methodist Church and the Ladies Guild at church. She volunteered at Riverside Memorial Hospital in New Port Richey, Fla.

Rosemont enjoyed bingo, bowling, golf and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. She did crossword puzzles constantly. She also enjoyed Barbershop music with her husband.

She is survived by two daughters, Dawn (Donald) Bagley of Westfield, and Kathleen Frost of Clearwater, Fla.; a daughter-in-law Julie Reibel of Westfield; son-in-law, Clifford Warner of Hartfield, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, Janet (Scott) Cookson of Mayville, Patricia Bagley of Jamestown, Timothy Bagley of Mayville, Curt (Nicki) Chandler of Palm Harbor, Fla., Kristopher (Tanya) Chandler of Springhill, Fla., Tammy Mayer of Spanaway, Wash., and Lisa (Gary) Lodmell of Cottonwood, Ariz.; 14 great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Reibel Sr. whom she married Jan. 10, 1940, in the Episcopal Church in Dunkirk, N.Y., and who died Jan. 7, 2004; daughter, Barbara Warner who died April 8, 2006; son, John A. Reibel Jr. on Nov. 26, 2012; and a sister, Virginia Brown on April 19, 2010.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville. Rev. Mark Parsons will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
