JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT

Louis A. Rivera, 58, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. At 8:06 p.m., officers went to an apartment building at 303 Lafayette St. to a conduct a home visit for a parolee. During the investigation, officers found a quantity of heroin and marijuana packaged for sale. Rivera was taken into custody.

NEW YORK STATE POLICE

ELLICOTT – Jacob E. Andrews, 30, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with inadequate muffler, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, no seatbelt and unlawful possession of marijuana after a traffic stop for not wearing a seatbelt and a loud muffler on I-86 in Ellicott. A computer check of Andrews showed he also had a suspended driver’s license and further investigation found him to be in possession of marijuana. He was issued tickets and will appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.
