Senior Tour Plays At Maplehurst

LAKEWOOD – The McDonald’s Senior Golf Tour traveled to Maplehurst Country Club on Monday and David Young and Jim Rissel tied for first place in Flight A with plus 4s, using the Modified Stableford.

Pat Hepinger took third with plus 3 and Young had the low gross with 72.

In Flight B, Jack Saullo was first with plus 6, followed by Tom Szydlo and Jim Wahlberg with plus 2. Szydlo shot an 85 for the low gross.

Ron Hart topped Gold Flight A with plus 4, Carl Malta was next with plus 5 and Ron Juzdowski placed third with plus 4. Malta and Roger Milspaw shared low gross honors with 79.

Don Volk led Gold Flight D with plus 9 and had the low gross with 82. Bill Kestler carded a plus 7 and Jim Smith had plus 6.

In Gold Flight C, Dave Chall posted a plus 10 and an 85 for the low gross, Lou Carvalho was second with plus 8 and Bob Painter fired a plus 7.

John Widegren paced Gold Flight D with a plus 10 and also had 92 for low gross honors. Ron Carlson took second with plus 9 and Wayne Lind and Jim Polvino tied for third with plus 5.

Closest-to-the-pin honors went to Don Hustead on No. 3, Carvalho on No. 7, Rissel on No. 13 and Jim Szwejbka on No. 16.

The McDonald’s Tour rolls on to Scenic Heights Golf Club on Monday with a 9 a.m. tee-off scheduled.
