City Men Nabbed With Heroin Possession While Selling Bike

Jamestown Police have taken two city men into custody after discovering a quantity of heroin Monday morning.

At 8:15 a.m., police observed two subjects attempting to sell a mountain bike that was hanging out of their vehicle’s trunk. Officers checked the vehicle, discovering heroin, several needles and other drug paraphernalia.

Police identified Jose L. Lopez, 39, and Jesus J. Suarez, 43, as the occupants. Both men were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of a hypodermic instrument. They are awaiting arraignment in city jail.

Officers secured the mountain bike as its rightful owner could not be determined. The bike is white and purple. It can be turned over to its rightful owner if that person comes forward to the JPD and identifies it. Inquiries on the bike can be directed to the Investigative Section at 483-7531.
