Investigations Into Missing City Men Falling Short

The search for Tyler Chase, a 25-year-old Jamestown man who went missing last month, has reportedly discontinued.

According to Joseph Gerace, Chautauqua County sheriff, an exhaustive search in the town of Charlotte- where Chase’s vehicle was recovered – has come up empty-handed.

“Every area where he logically could be, we’ve searched repeatedly,” Gerace said. “We’ve searched as much as we can reasonably do … and we’re not currently doing any further searching.”

Gerace said Chase is still classified as a missing person and that police will continue to wait for more information.

Chase was last seen at his parents’ home on May 14.

Pennsylvania State Police said Chase is charged with several counts of interference with the custody of a child, corruption of a minor, endangering the welfare of a child and furnishing alcohol to minors after several incidents in Warren County, Pa. and the Jamestown area between July 15 and Nov. 12 of last year.

Chase is accused of contacting a 16-year-old female and a 17-year-old female via phone and text messages. He would then pick up the victims – after it was arranged that they would sneak out of their residences-and take them to various parties where alcohol was provided.

The Lakewood-Busti Police Department also has active warrants out for Chase.

Anyone who has information on the whereabouts of Chase is requested to call the sheriff’s office at 753-2131.

Joseph D. Anthony

The search for Joseph D. Anthony, a 43-year-old city man who went missing on May 27, is also coming up short.

According to Captain Robert F. Samuelson, the investigation into his disappearance is ongoing.

Anthony was reportedly last seen inside the Dash Inn – located at 774 E. Second St. – at approximately 10:30 p.m. on May 27, according to Anthony’s family.

He reportedly left all his belongings at his Broadhead Avenue residence, including pills needed for his diabetes.

Anthony’s brother, Jeremy, said he’s not sure whether his brother’s disappearance is due to failing health or foul play.

Anthony is white, 5 foot 8 inches tall and 280 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Jamestown Police Department at 483-7537.
