CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
DUNKIRK-Daniel P. Briggs, 47, of Dunkirk was charged Tuesday with failure to keep right, failure to signal, unsafe lane change, failure to maintain lane, driving while intoxicated and DWI-Per Se. At approximately 7:41 p.m., deputies on patrol observed a southbound vehicle on Main Street in Dunkirk allegedly commit several lane violations. Investigations revealed that the driver-Briggs-was intoxicated. He will appear in Dunkirk Court at a later date.
BROCTON-Robert J. Mangus Jr., 33, of Dunkirk was charged Thursday with second-degree harassment. At approximately 9 p.m., the Sheriff’s Office received a tip indicating Mangus Jr. was in Brocton. Mangus Jr. was wanted in Dunkirk on a second-degree domestic violence harassment warrant. He was arrested and turned over to the city. He is being held without bail.
FORESTVILLE – Gregory Shain, 31, of Forestville was charged Tuesday with third-degree assault, second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child following disturbance. Just before 9 p.m. deputies responded to an Eagle Street residence, and following an investigation, alleged Shain assaulted and harassed two individuals. Shain was arraigned in the Town of Hanover Court where he was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail.
NEW YORK STATE POLICE
RIPLEY-James E. Chambers, 41, of Ripley was charged Thursday with 1 count of fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana and 1 count of unlawfully growing marijuana after a search warrant was executed by the New York State Police BCI, CNET and uniformed members from the State Police stations in Jamestown and Fredonia at a 4156 Sinden Road barn in Ripley. A marijuana grow operation with a number of plants was located within the barn. In addition, a quantity of processed marijuana was also secured. Chambers will appear in Ripley Court at a later date.
