Player slots are filling quickly.
The sponsorship deadline is Monday.
A major fundraising event for the conservancy, proceeds go toward conservancy’s watershed pollution prevention, stream and lakeshore restoration and watershed conservation programs to help arrest soil erosion and nutrient pollution, both of which are root causes of lake sedimentation and excessive algae and aquatic plant growth.
Proceeds from the 2014 tournament will be used toward conserving lakeshore wetlands at Whitney Bay and Whitney Point; working with watershed owners of Chautauqua Lake, Cassadaga Creek and Chautauqua Creek to conserve tributary stream corridors, wetlands and forests; providing technical assistance to landowners on streamside or lakeshore erosion control and vegetative buffers to provide habitat and intercept pollutants; providing youth and adult watershed education programs, including the Chautauqua Lake Curriculum program in area schools; and publishing The ‘Shed Sheet newsletter.
