Elite Sweep Way To Tourney Title

BUFFALO – Jamestown’s Seventh-Grade Elite girls basketball team won four straight games to take the Buffalo Summer Classic last weekend.

Allie Stockwell and Hannah Frederick each scored 12 points and Frederick grabbed 12 rebounds as Jamestown downed the Welland Warriors, 51-42. Natalie Angeletti and Stockwell had eight rebounds in the winning cause.

In the semifinals, Jamestown easily beat Blessed Sacrament-Hewett, 44-16, with Margo Loutzenhiser leading the way with 17 points and Alanna Hultberg added six. Stockwell pulled down five rebounds.

Jamestown began the tournament by overwhelming the Flamborough Fire, 54-9.

Loutzenhiser recorded 14 points and Stockwell 12 points and four steals for Jamestown. Macey Lundmark added nine points and five assists while Lauren Peters hauled down five rebounds and had five assists.

Jamestown later took care of the Welland Warriors, 47-11, with Stockwell showing the way with 14 points followed by Olivia Gates with 13 points and Frederick with eight rebounds.
