Area Police Reports


BROCTON – Christopher A. Moore, 33, of Fredonia was charged Saturday with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. At approximately 2:41 a.m., deputies observed a vehicle cross the center lines while traveling westbound on West Main Street in Brocton. An investigation revealed that the driver – Moore – was intoxicated. He refused to submit a breath test. He was transported to county jail in lieu of bail.

ELLICOTT – Dustin D. Bloom, 29, of Jamestown was charged Sunday with driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI and failure to keep right. At approximately 1:41 a.m., Bloom was stopped for a traffic violation. Investigation revealed that Bloom was intoxicated. He will appear in Ellicott Court at a later date.


Alexander Santiago, 39, and Raymond Santiago-Rodriguez, 40, both of Dunkirk were charged on May 23 with petit larceny. Both subjects reportedly stole merchandise from the Lakewood Sears and concealed it in their clothes. When store employees tried to speak with them, they fled into the woods along Mall Boulevard. Police conducted a search and later located them. They were transported to the county jail.

Neftali Vellon-Benitez, 33, of Jamestown was charged Tuesday with violation of probation for second-degree unlawful surveillance. Vellon-Benitez was arrested at Jamestown Probation by the Jamestown Police Department and turned over to the Lakewood-Busti Police Department on a probation warrant issued out of Busti. He was arraigned and posted $450 bail.


Merle F. Wright II, 42, of Jamestown was charged Monday with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operator, driving while intoxicated, aggravated DWI of .18 percent or higher, speed in zone, inadequate muffler and failure to keep right. At approximately 10:45 p.m., officers observed a red vehicle speeding east on East Sixth Street from Prendergast Avenue with a loud muffler. The vehicle then turned onto Lakeview Avenue and continually crossed the center line into traffic. Investigation revealed that the driver – Wright – was intoxicated. He also had a revoked driver’s license for a previous failure to submit a chemical test. He was transported to the city jail without incident.

Patrick J. Blakemore, 35, of Jamestown was charged Monday with second-degree criminal trespass and second-degree harassment. At approximately 11:57 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Crescent Street for a report of an unwanted person causing a disturbance. Officers determined that Blakemore had come over uninvited, forced his way into the residence and punched a resident in the face. He was taken into custody and transported to the city jail.
