Olean Man Crashes On I-86, 8-Year-Old Injured
CARROLLTON-An Olean man was charged Saturday after driving while intoxicated and crashing his vehicle on Interstate 86, injuring an 8-year-old passenger.
At approximately 4:28 p.m., Bradley C. Fluent, 39, was reportedly traveling eastbound in the westbound lane of I-86 – which had been closed for road reconstruction- from exit 21 to exit 23.
Shortly afterward, he struck a concrete barrier, causing injury to his 8-year-old passenger.
The child was transported to Bradford Regional Medical Center. Fluent was uninjured.
According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, Fluent was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, DWI with a child, disobeying a traffic control device and endangering the welfare of a child.
He was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation after a Department of Motor Vehicles check showed that Fluent had a suspended license for failure to pay child support.
Fluent was arraigned and transported to the Cattaraugus County Jail in lieu of $2,000 bail.
