TRAVEL BASEBALL

The Jamestown Tigers split a pair of games on Saturday at the Can-Am Baseball Tournament at Williamsville South High School.

In the first game, the Tigers fell 4-2 to the WNY Katz.

Koby Carder pitched five innings with eight strikeouts with two earned runs.

Collin Stack led the way hitting, going 2 for 3 with a double and two runs scored as well as a stolen base. Nolan Hunt added two hits on the day and Chris Haase struck an RBI single with a stolen base.

Rounding out the offense was Bram Johnson with a double.

In the second game, the Tigers beat the Ontario Terriers, 6-3.

Chad Nelson hurled five innings, allowing four hits and one earned run while fanning four.

Hunt claimed the win in two innings of work, giving up three hits and striking out two. Will Lucas led the way on offense, going 2 for 2 with an RBI and a stolen base. Brenton Yager had the game-tying RBI on a single.

Now the Tigers will advance in the tournament to the playoffs and will meet the Braves today at 9:30 at the South Campus of Erie County College.

EAST LAKE BABE RUTH PREP DIVISION

Jonathan Spicer and Austin Butcher combined for the victory as Pine Valley defeated Falconer’s Stuart Tool & Die, 5-1.

Pine Valley had timely hits and good base running in the victory.

EAST LAKE BABE RUTH 13-15 LEAGUE

Trevor Micek plated five runs with two doubles and a single to lead the Bemus Point VFW past homestanding Gowanda, 11-4.

Dalton DuBois and Zak Trim also had three hits with DuBois tripling and Trim doubling for the winners. Logan Fain and Nash Nelson chipped in with two hits.

DuBois pitched a complete-game victory, striking out 11, walking four and giving up five hits.

FREWSBURG LITTLE LEAGUE

Nick Marsh had the cycle and drove in four runs, including two with an over the fence home run, and combined with Aiden Cardone on a 12-strikeout, one-walk, three-hitter as Carroll Rod & Gun Club rolled over Ahlstrom-Schaeffer, 15-2.

Traden Gray also delivered four hits with a RBI double, Cardone singled twice, Dylan Pearson a RBI double and Noah Collins had his first hit of the season with an RBI for the winners.

Skyler Luce had two hits, one an RBI single, and Austin Lindstrom had the other single in vain.

JAMESTOWN RIPKEN MAJORS DIVISION

Isaiah Rojas and Cole Mactavish led the offense and Erik Peterson the defense as Veterans of Modern Warfare beat Ecklof’s Bakery, 11-9.

Tyler Swegels and Josh Loomis paced Ecklof’s.

VALLEY LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

Carter Sisson and Zach Sisson combined for 17 strikeouts and the shutout as the Gerry Jammers blanked the Gerry Pirates, 8-0, in the opening of the season ending tourney.

Carter Sisson, who worked 4 innings, drilled two hits, Isaac Wenger a double and Zach Sisson and Jacob Ansell had singles in the win.

Braden LeBaron of the Pirates pitched four innings and allowed only a run.

FALCONER MINOR LEAGUE

The Southside Redemption Cardinals routed the Combined Insurance Dodgers 23-1.

For the winners, Andrew LeBaron had four hits, as did James Fiarella and Joe Pillittieri.

Trey Laroy and Channing Brainard each had two hits in the loss.
