Sally Ann Martuccio
Sally Ann Martuccio, 72, of Montoursville, Pa., formerly of Galeton, Pa., and Jamestown, N.Y., passed away peacefully at home on May 6, 2014, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Brookville, the daughter of Edwin and Merry (Weiss) Ralph, on Dec. 19, 1941.
She was a 1960 graduate of Jamestown High School, where she played trombone in marching band, and was on the yearbook committee.
Following her father’s death in 1959, Sally became the sole driver in the family. She took her mother around town in the Volkswagen that she loved, Sally’s ”Bug.”
Sally married her cosme-tology teacher, Pasquale ”Pascal” Martuccio in 1961. They owned and operated the Casa Riccia Beauty Salon in Galeton, for 46 years. She was greatly missed by her customers after her retirement. Sally was a devoted wife, mother of four, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of three. She and her husband were awaiting the arrival of their fourth great-grandchild, due in June, at the the time of her death. Sally was an active member of St. Bibiana’s Catholic Church in Galeton, where her children were baptized and married. She loved art and was an exceptionally creative person. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time in the outdoors.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Pascal Martuccio; she was also survived by her children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph (Bernice) Ralph of Port Allegany, Pa.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 17, 2014. The celebrant was the Rev. Joseph Dougherty.
