McDaniel Avenue Home Destroyed By Fire

Plumes of smoke emerged from a 52 McDaniel Ave. residence Monday as a raging structure fire quickly destroyed the home’s interior.

At approximately 3:30 p.m., Jamestown fire crews responded to the scene, hosing down flames, breaking open windows and sawing a hole in the roof to allow for ventilation.

Neighbors in the surrounding area gathered on their lawns and porches as fire crews brought the fire under control in approximately 20-30 minutes.

The residents of the home were reportedly not inside, fire officials said. No other injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No further information was made available by press time.
