Fluvanna Community Church To Hold Benefit Auction Saturday

The Fluvanna Community Church will hold a benefit auction on Saturday for the purpose of funding a floor covering for the new family center. This year the church is looking back over 180 years of ministry.

Chuck Baker is chairman of the auction and Vonnie Wasson is co-chairman. Charles and Margaret Blakeslee are assistants. A sandwich type dinner will be served in the Family Center from 5-6 p.m. and during that time, auction items may be viewed. The cost for the dinner is a donation of $10 for adults; $8 for children, age 11 and over; children, age 10 and under, are free. The auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. and admission is free. Many door prizes will be given away. Tickets are available at the church office, 484-0553.

Special items which will be auctioned include a hand sewn navy blue and white polka dot flower basket quilted by the Amish; two colorful pathway quilts sewn by women of the church and Amish quilted; an organ owned by Helga Hulse; a solid oak serving cart; a winning Bills jacket from the Kelly days in perfect condition. Other items include a canoe, trailer equipment, fitness items, furniture, jewelry and dolls.
