Audubon Nature Contest Photos Due By June 30

Entries are due by June 30 for the 2014 Jamestown Audubon Nature Photography Contest.

The contest, presented by the Audubon Center & Sanctuary of Jamestown, awards prizes in three categories and two divisions. The Youth Division is for ages 8 to 18 or still in high school. Adult is 18 and over or post-high school. Youth and adult winners in the categories of landscapes, plants and wildlife each receive a $100 cash prize.

With entries being submitted on-line, the competition has attracted international attention, receiving submissions from around the world.

The 2013 winners were:

Adult Landscape: Alan Sloyer (Roslyn, N.Y.), “Chinese fishing nets – Kochi, India”

Adult Plants: Ricardo Gilson (Meadville, Pa.), “Hepatica”

Adult Wildlife: James Day (Griffin, Ga.), “Moose in the Aspens”

Youth Landscape: Alan Wei (Setauket, N.Y.), “Old Growth”

Youth Plants: Jaymes Dempsey (Ann Arbor, Mich.), “Coming Autumn”

Youth Wildlife: Jenna Van Kley (Powell, Ohio), “Double-crested Cormorant”
