Ashville Man Charged With Rape Of Juvenile Posts Bail

NORTH HARMONY – An Ashville man was charged Tuesday after allegedly having a physical relationship with a juvenile female.

Following an investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office and Child Protective Services of Chautauqua County, William P. Stratton, 39, of 3001 Butts Road, Ashville, was arrested and charged with second-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, third-degree rape, third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

An arrest warrant was obtained from Judge Peacock of North Harmony Court, and Stratton was committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash or $40,000 property bond.

Stratton posted bail later in the same day.

According to a press release from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, the alleged sexual conduct against the victim took place from December 2009 through August 2013 at various times in the town of North Harmony.
