Cross Roads Market To Honor Memorial Day Weekend With Barbecue, Music
“Kettle corn under the pavilion, yard salers in the parking lot, and vendors and artists in the buildings – Memorial Day weekend will be great fun at Cross Roads!” said Gerry Vacanti, artist, potter and president of the Cross Roads Farm and Craft Market board of directors.
Located at 6017 Westfield-Sherman Road (county Route 21) in Westfield, the normally Saturday-only market will be open both Saturday and Monday for Memorial Day weekend.
“In addition, we have live music and a chicken and ribs barbecue on Saturday,” she said. “Folks can sit on the picnic tables outside, enjoy their meal, and listen to music al fresco. They can stop by the bakery, get some wine and cheese, and of course shop till they drop. Sounds like a perfect day to me.”
To honor veterans, Cross Roads is hosting a chicken and ribs barbecue on Saturday sponsored by the John W. Dill American Legion Post 434 in Brocton.
The barbecue is a fundraiser to help legion members in their community service projects.
Saturday will also feature live music.
There will be a guitarist playing for tips and applause, and generally making a good day even better.
The weekend will also feature free setup for any yard salers who wish to bring their items. On both Saturday and Monday, Cross Roads offers folks free spaces to sell their previously loved objects. Spring is a great time to clean out the closets and basement, and Cross Roads is helping folks to recycle their unwanted items. Everything must be yard sale or flea market quality. No new merchandise, original artwork, or craft items are allowed.
Open from the first week in May until the last Saturday before Christmas, Cross Roads Farm and Craft Market is always looking for more vendors and artists. For more information, visit www.thecrossroadsmarket.com or check out their Facebook page. Stop by on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
