John ‘‘Jack’’ Lindsay Sr.
John ”Jack” Lindsay Sr. 83, formerly of Jamestown, N.Y., passed away quietly at his home in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014. A celebration of his life is planned for Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 1 p.m.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army paratroopers, and avid sports fan, but especially loved NASCAR racing, NFL football and camping with his family.
Jack is survived by one sister, Beverly Becker, Lakewood, N.Y.; and one brother, James ”Jim” Lindsay, Hemet, Calif. In addition he has six surviving children: Margaret J. ”Peg” McLaughlin, Conneaut, Ohio, Linda McKarski, Newport Richey, Fla., John A. Lindsay Jr. and his wife, Pat of Frewsburg, N.Y., Patty Gahagan and her husband, Ed of Morgantown, W.Va., Jay Lindsay of Orlando, Fla., and Jan Lindsay of Orlando, Fla. He also had five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
At his request, cremation services were carried out by his children in Florida. Location of memorial service is being held in Frewsburg at the Fireman Grounds II Blue Building located off Hazard Street.
