Theta Beta Chapter To Meet Thursday
Theta Beta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met at the home of Sandy Zenns on Wednesday, May 7. Joan Wahl, vice president, presided over the business meeting. Co-hostesses were Diane Brosius and Deanna Sands.
Zenns presented the program, “Hearty Home-style Desserts.” The word dessert came from the French word meaning to remove or clear away. Dessert is used as a way to round out the meal by complementing it. A heavy meal requires a light, tart dessert. A light meal, a more substantial dessert. An elegant dessert should follow an elaborate meal. Zenns gave substitute ingredients that could be used to convert many dessert recipes to healthier ones. She also shared some healthier recipes.
Brosius performed the installation of 2014-15: President Tracie Cederquist, Vice President Inta Damcott, Recording Secretary Joan Wahl, Corresponding Secretary Mary Rogers, Treasurer Rose Van Volkenburg and Extension Officer Deanna Sands.
Members assembled and decorated Nosegay baskets that will be filled with flowers and presented to the residents of the Mayville Senior Apartments at their next meeting Thursday. Members will serve refreshments and provide entertainment at this meeting.
