Hillbillies Shut Out Frewsburg

FREWSBURG – Fredonia (11-0) put together three big innings and rolled to a 13-0 Division 1 West baseball win over Frewsburg (8-11, 6-6) on Sunday.

The Hillbillies scored three runs in the second inning, four in the fourth and sealed things with five in the seventh.

The host Bears also committed four errors.

”They all came in big spots,” Frewsburg coach Jay Grann said.

Weston Lee led Fredonia with two triples and a single for three RBIs. Jared Burmaster had two singles and two RBIs while Anthony Gullo had a double and a single.

Winning pitcher Cam Gloss tossed a three-hit complete game. He allowed one walk and struck out 10.

The only Frewsburg hits were singles by Cole Brink, Trevor Spicer and Bryce Peterson.

Losing pitcher Tage Johnson went all the way and allowed only five earned runs, 10 hits, one walk and he fanned 11.

The Bears will finish their regular season with a non-league game at North Collins on Wednesday.
