Library To Host Diversity Class For Parents Wednesday

The James Prendergast Library will host a parent education class at 7 p.m. Wednesday on “Welcoming Cultural Diversity into your Home and Life.”

The presenter is Indo Quinones, cultural and linguistics competency coordinator for Chautauqua Tapestry. After defining culture and giving examples of cultural groups, she will talk about what diversity is, why it is important and why it should be allowed for and respected. She will also address fear of differences, learning to be tolerant and understanding, and what can be done to stop the stigma about differences. There will be time for audience questions and discussion.
