Bears Victims Of St. Mary’s Big Inning
LANCASTER – The fifth inning led to Frewsburg’s undoing in a non-league baseball game with St. Mary’s of Lancaster on Saturday afternoon.
Ed Gresham cracked a three-run double to highlight a four-run fifth inning and St. Mary’s (13-5) made it stand up for a 5-3 victory over the Bears (8-10).
Frewsburg scored all its runs off Alexis Biprro in the sixth inning on RBI singles by Trevor Spicer, Bryce Peterson and Bryce Raymond. Biprro handcuffed the Bears on six hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
Kolby Carder went the distance for Frewsburg, fanning 13 and walking three.
Frewsburg has Division l West makeup game at Fredonia this afternoon at 1 p.m.
