Firefighters Contain City Fire

Jamestown firefighters managed to contain a fire at 837 Prendergast Ave. to the basement of the home Friday night.

At 8:20 p.m. the Jamestown Fire Department, along with the Jamestown Police Department and Alstar Ambulance responded to the scene of the structure fire.

Nobody was inside or injured, and the fire took 15 to 20 minutes to put out. There were a few broken windows, but firefighters managed to keep the fire from spreading outside of the basement and to the upper levels of the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
