Clymer Girls Win With Quick Start

SHERMAN – Clymer jumped out to a huge lead and never really looked back as the Lady Pirates (2-8) outlasted Sherman, 21-11, in a Division 2 West softball battle that was moved to Sherman due to wet field conditions in Clymer.

The Lady Pirates were on fire in the first inning as 10 runs crossed the plate, giving starter Brianna Summers plenty of support as she got the victory, striking out three. She also had two RBIs.

Also for Clymer, Tatum Mielewski stroked a double and three singles with an RBI, Lauren Dunnewold had two hits and three RBIs, Courtney Newton added two hits and two RBIs, and Sydney Beal connected for a double and a single.

For the Lady Wildcats (0-8), Natalie Houle struck out three in getting the complete-game loss. Codi Hannold had a double and single and Houle, Gracie Mayer and Danielle Aldrich all contributed two hits.
